New Version of BallFallDown Deluxe for iPad Launches in App Store
Open-ended construction toy provides hours of creative fun for kids and the young at heart
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - March 24, 2011 - Independent developer FlatPack Interactive has announced that version 1.2 of their unique iPad app, BallFallDown Deluxe, can now be downloaded from Apple's App Store . Initially released in December, BallFallDown recently hit #1 in the iPad App Store's Entertainment ranking and #3 overall.
BallFallDown is an innovative, open-ended construction toy that brings the classic marble run toy to users' fingertips. Players can design their own marble runs using a variety of balls, platforms, spinners, flippers, and tubes. Simple touch screen controls allow you to rotate, lengthen and shorten, and drag pieces around the play space. In addition, BallFallDown offers iPad-specific features that could never exist with traditional toys, such as teleporters that beam balls across the play area. The app's intuitive interface is accessible to children as young as two, and provides hours of creative fun for kids and adults of all ages.
Today's update adds a fun new element of customization to BallFallDown's wealth of creative possibilities by allowing users to choose among a variety of play space backgrounds. The update also provides bug fixes and interface enhancements over the previous version. "We're thrilled that BallFallDown is being enjoyed by so many people and decided to give our customers a bit of new functionality in return," says Paul Zimmer, FlatPack Interactive's founder and CEO. "Our team has received great user feedback that we're taking to heart as we update the app and adapt it for new platforms."
Priced at $2.99, BallFallDown Deluxe is an affordable option for parents looking for high-quality iPad entertainment for their children. The app was developed with help from early education specialists and has been highly recommended by parent-focused media. Family ratings site Common Sense Media awarded BallFallDown five stars, praising it as "a super app" and an "incredible construction toy for open-ended play." Wired.com's GeekDad called it a valuable learning tool with "the type of sophistication that makes full use of the [iPad's] digital technology."
