Elite Command

Posted by Dave Seaman on Tuesday, 22 March 2011

Elite Command is a multiplayer online strategy game.  It allows for 2-6 player games on a variety of landscapes, with a number of different units available, each with their own strengths and weaknesses.  There are a few different base types, too.  When you set up a game, you can choose how long you get to take each turn - from 1 hour up to a whole week - if you miss a turn completely, the other player(s) can skip you (make you miss a turn) or send a reminder.

It plays well, simple interface, a couple of things could do with tweaking but it's still somewhat in development.  That said it's a complete game as it stands now, and pretty addictive it is too.  The time lag between turns can be a problem, especially with lazy players, but if you get a run of time where you're all online taking your turns quickly, it's really good fun.

Definitely one to try out (you get a free week before deciding if you want to pay to continue playing).
