"Beyond Sol" launches on Steam

Beyond Sol is the first game by cousins and ex-BioWare devs, Eric Fagnan and Zachary Beaudoin. The game is a unique blend of action combat and grand strategy empire building in a dynamic open world. Players can expect to collect resources, build their city, upgrade their fleet of ships, and cultivate relationships or wage wars with rival cities in a quest to dominate the solar system.

A new class of ship, the fearsome Dreadnaughts, will also be headed into the game today. Dreadnaughts are four times larger than any ships within the game so far, and act as a powerful city killer, with a limit of one per fleet. There will be three options of dreadnaughts to choose from, one from each major corporation within the game.

Beyond Sol will release at $19.99 / £14.99 / €19.99 on Steam, with both single and multiplayer options.

  • Build a grand orbital city and establish outposts to expand your territory and claim precious resources.
  • Assemble and customize your fleet of warships and lead it in epic space battles.
  • Trade and forge relationships with other cities or wage war and take their territory.
  • Pilot your personal command cruiser and customize it with a suite of weapons and equipment.
  • Unlock and upgrade new ships, weapons, and equipment for your ships and defensive structures.
  • Dynamic and procedurally generated – AI opponents, world layout, and random events are different each time.
  • Persistent player profile – carry your ship progression across both singleplayer and multiplayer games.
  • Singleplayer or multiplayer – generate a world, play by yourself, or let your friends join at any time to play with or against you.

Praxia Entertainment
Beyond Sol was the first game developed by Praxia Entertainment, founded in July of 2014. Cousins Eric Fagnan and Zachary Beaudoin grew up together, and have always shared a passion for science fiction and open-world, multiplayer games. After spending several years working at BioWare on such titles as Dragon Age Origins, The Old Republic, Mass Effect Andromeda, and the Mass Effect series, the two felt that the time was right to set off and found their own studio. Beyond Sol is inspired by classic space games and science-fiction literature, and the design is focused on a gameplay-first approach.
