IGF award winning Cubetractor on sale today

Pull Your Way to Victory! Award Winning Game Cubetractor is currently on sale August 16th!

The IGF China-winning, neo-retroesque action-strategy-puzzle hybrid is available to the public!

Independent game company Ludochip is excited to release Cubetractor, an action-strategy-puzzle hybrid where you defeat enemies through an unconventional cube-pulling, turret-building mechanic; for PC and Mac. The game recently won the coveted ‘Best Game Award’ in the Independent Games Festival China 2012. The game is available on SteamGreenman GamingAmazon.comGameflyGet GamesGoGameolith andGamersgate for $8.50 (USD) or currency equivalent, 15% off the typical price of $9.99.

Cubetractor carries elements of a reverse tower defence and a grounded bullet-hell dodger to deliver a unique gameplay experience presented in a classic top-down perspective. Players take on the role of Endroi, a menacingly happy-go-lucky quadrubot as he strives to master the art of Cubetracting -- the art of attracting Cubes. It's a deceptively straightforward skill that involves dexterity, acute awareness, multi-tasking and tactical positioning. Players will have to strategize, solve and fight their way through multitudes of enemy installations to achieve victory.

* 40+ maps to pull, crush and build: Levels carefully designed to bring out the emergent dynamics in a unique mechanic.
* Symmetrical Balance: Why are the bad guys always one step ahead? In Cubetractor, the enemy structures are exactly the same as the players, other than they got there first. Defeating them is a matter of thoughtful timing and positioning.
* Purely indie-made: Done by 2 people, living off their savings, working off random coffee joints.
* Hardcore Awards for Hardcore Players: The main levels are designed for speedruns. Collect all the batteries, reach the finishing goal within impressively tight time limits -- do all that without a scratch -- to earn the most coveted of accolades. Don't worry, there are also options for those of us that are more human.
"The game gets pretty hard for a good number of casual players, despite its light-hearted appearance,” sates lead developer, Bruce Chia. “But you know what? On the bright side if you were such a player, and if you didn't give up, you'd find you'd be able to appreciate a lot more of the intense neo-retro sort of action games, particularly top-down shooters, you can see our take on the bullet hell experience on a small scale here!”

Players interested in frantic, multi-tasking gameplay where they need to plan their approach and find the most efficient ways to engage will find this right up their alley. Cubetractor is challenging – players will have to dodge enemy fire while constructing the right structures to overwhelm their targets and seize the day!
