Starpires Alpha Sector Launches and 100k Embrace Turn-Based Gaming

Bothell, WA, -- April 11, 2013 -- Starpires a turn-based, strategy MMO by Bad Pug Games reached two significant milestones this week. The 100k total registration mark was eclipsed and Alpha Sector, a new universe, was launched with over 2,500 empires created in the first 24 hours.

Alpha Sector represents the first new additional server to be made available to players since the games inception. It delivers a level playing field for new players while providing numerous game balance and feature enhancements.

Previously, as is the case with many MMO’s, all of the players in the game resided in a single universe, which never restarts. Starpires separates itself by being heavily centered on PvP combat while incorporating a great depth of strategy to the game play. Providing multiple universes allows for players to restart in a new, more competitive environment, while game play continues on other game servers. Bad Pug Games plans to launch additional game universes in the future and innovate different game mechanics and overall goals for many of them.

In parallel, Starpires has also reached another significant milestone with 100k total registrations. The majority of these signups have come since the beginning of the year as game marketing efforts begun to ramp up. According to Bad Pug Games CEO Matt Heaton, company focus will continue to shift to increasing player acquisition in the coming months.

Starpires can be played for free online at or on Facebook at
