Gamersgate's new bundle (Indiefort)

Posted by Dave Seaman on Monday, 9 April 2012

Oops, missed one from a few days back:

NEW YORK. April 02 2012. A major step in its plans to become a hub for indie games, GamersGate today announced the IndieFort Bundle – a bundle of six great indie games at a low enough price to get everyone excited.

The six games that will be featured are:
  • Cardinal Quest,
  • Kenshi
  • Black Market
  • Devil Whiskey
  • Steel Storm
  • Wanderlust: Rebirth
The above games will all be available for a minimum of $6, which is split between GamersGate and the developers 30-70%. But here’s the kicker – every penny paid above the $6 mark goes straight to the developers, completely bypassing GamersGate.

At 50,000 units, several of the developers have even promised a free copy of their next game to everyone who bought the bundle! Other milestones will be announced along with the bundle going live.

The bundle has been put together with the direction of indie game PR guru Alex Poysky.

As far as we know this has never been done before”, remarks Gustav Nisser who heads business development at GamersGate. “Indie developers are a vital part of the gaming world, and we want to make sure that gamers can support them.”

GamersGate is currently getting ready to launch the IndieFort platform – a place where indie developers will have access to resources to aid their development as well as a greater control over their distribution for both finished games and those in various testing or funding stages, where Alex Poysky will again be heavily involved.
