Wellington based Launching Pad Games today announces Scarlett and the Spark of Life, the debut episode of their new game for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch devices. Built from the ground up for handheld iOS devices, Scarlett and the Spark of Life is an offbeat adventure starring a gutsy, crowbar-wielding princess. The first of four planned episodes, Scarlett and the Spark of Life introduces players to Scarlett's plight while hinting at the larger adventure that awaits.
Wellington, New Zealand - Launching Pad Games today is announcing that Scarlett and the Spark of Life, an offbeat adventure starring a gutsy, crowbar-wielding princess, is available today in Apple's App Store. This introductory episode in the Scarlett Adventures series sells for $2.99 for iPhone and iPod touch.
Upon being kidnapped, tradition dictates that a princess should sit pretty and wait for Prince Charming to save the day - but Scarlett's not that kind of princess! Thanks to her quick wit, outsmarting the thugs who snatched her isn't overly difficult. The trickier task will be finding her way out of the peculiar (and conspicuously horseless) alpine village she's landed in. What's a stranded princess to do? Build her own mechanical horse, of course!
The first of four planned episodes, Scarlett and the Spark of Life introduces players to Scarlett's plight while hinting at the larger adventure that awaits. Built from the ground up for handheld iOS devices, it features an intuitive "point and tap" interface and frustration-free gameplay with an emphasis on exploration and character interaction. Though its cheeky humor is targeted at adults, the colorful cartoon artwork and lighthearted story make Scarlett and the Spark of Life enjoyable for players of all ages.
Launching Pad Games, the independent studio behind the Scarlett Adventures, has a particular interest in exploring original narrative in video games. "It's been a great pleasure crafting a streamlined, modern adventure especially for iPhone and iPod touch," says Tristan Clark, one half of Launching Pad's two-man team. "Creating an entertaining and humorous world for Scarlett was our number one priority. Packing in a ton of dreadful puns came a close second."
Device Requirements:
* iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad
* Requires iOS 4.0 or later
* 35.3 MB
Pricing and Availability:
Scarlett and the Spark of Life: Scarlett Adventures Episode 1 is $2.99 USD (or equivalent amount in other currencies) and available worldwide exclusively through the App Store in the Games category. Further details and a trailer that showcases the game's quirky humor can be found on the Scarlett and the Spark of Life product page on Launching Pad Games' website.
Launching Pad Games is an independent developer based in Wellington, New Zealand. Their games include the addictive Zoo Lasso for iPhone / iPod touch and The Pretender, an ongoing puzzle series that has been enjoyed by millions of people worldwide.
