LUTZ, FLORIDA – Artix Entertainment, the family-owned indie game studio that unleashes online MMOs and RPGs to 190 million registered players, has graciously accepted four Dragon Slayer Trophies in the annual Dragon Slayer Awards.
Hosted by Guild Launch and GameSkinny, the Dragon Slayer Awards are a fan-nominated awards ceremony honoring communities in online gaming. Global gamers nominated their favorite games and gaming personalities in 12 separate categories, focusing on community managers, community builders, and community members.
Running against the big dogs like World of Warcraft, WildStar, and League of Legends, Artix Entertainment and their hit MMO AdventureQuest Worlds took home the gold-plated trophy in four categories:
* Most Passionate Fan Base: AdventureQuest Worlds
* Community Manager of the Year: Beleen from AdventureQuest Worlds
* Best Community Management Team: Artix Entertainment
* Most Engaged Design or Dev Team: AdventureQuest Worlds
"This is a HUGE honor for us!" says Adam Bohn, CEO and founder of Artix Entertainment. "We are so grateful to be part of this fun gaming community full of amazing and loyal players. Truly, this award is all about them—they are the ones who won. Which is exactly why we are going to digitize this award and share it with them inside the game."
To celebrate, Artix is creating Dragon Slayer Awards-inspired items for AdventureQuest Worlds. This includes a trophy that they can place in their house in-game. Players can access these exclusive items during the MMO’s newest release launching Friday, September 19, at www.AQ.com. After claiming their well-deserved spoils, players can set sail to the Talk Like a Pirate Day event where more treasures await.
