The Red Solstice Is On Kickstarter

Westford, MA -- Mar 28, 2014 / (http://www.myprgenie.com) -- The Croatian indie development studio Ironward is launching its first crowd-funding project, titled The Red Solstice. It is a science-fiction based cooperative multiplayer strategy/RPG game, inspired by such classics as StarCraft and Dawn of War that is now available for media preview.

Check the Kickstarter campaign right away here.

In the year 2060 the Earth was ravaged by a virus pandemic of a magnitude greater than the Bubonic plague. The virus spread quickly, those who were infected became something less human, willing carriers of the modern-day plague. Government action came too late, and as the chaos escalated corporate agencies rushed space programs in a desperate bid to evacuate the planet, since a cure could not be found. The fledgling colonies of Mars became humanity's last bastion, and since no traces of the virus was found among the lucky few who boarded the space vessels bound for the Red Planet, it was believed the danger had been averted.

It is now the year 117 AE (After Earth) terraforming is well under way, however during an exceptionally violent storm dubbed The Red Solstice, communication lines between Tharsis, the colony referred to as The Capital and the remaining human settlements of Mars are disrupted. The Elysium Corporation deploys its elite marine task force to investigate what happened to the colony.

In The Red Solstice you control one of eight space marines trying to find out what happened to human colonies on Mars during that storm. The mix of a dark and gritty science fiction setting and addictive, adrenaline-filled gameplay -- based on both advanced tactics and quick decisions -- forges the game's unforgettable atmosphere and creates a great gameplay experience.

Currently the co-op multiplayer aspect of the game is almost finished and ready for Beta so Ironward is seeking additional funding to develop the epic and emotional single player campaign that they have laid the groundwork for.

Game main features:

- 8 player co-op multiplayer
- epic singleplayer campaign
- Adrenaline filled and quick tactics focused gameplay
- 8 different classes to chose from: Assault, Heavy Support, Recon, -- Marksman, Demolition, Terminator, Hellfire and Medic
- Experience based character development system
- High replayability
- Dark and gritty survival sci-fi story and setting
- Unending waves of monsters during ~1 hour gaming sessions
- Challenging Boss Fights

The Red Solstice is played in roughly hour-long gameplay sessions, during which players need to scavenge for supplies, find and fortify their base and then defend it from an almost infinite number of monsters to finally evacuate survivors. An experience-based character development system and the ability to upgrade your space marines' equipment during a battle is another fundamental part of the gameplay.

"It is the type of game that we always wanted to make", -- says Ironward founder Hrvoje Horvatek. "The Red Solstice combines the unique, gritty setting of well-known sci-fi movies with action-filled cooperative gameplay based on quick thinking and smart use of advanced tactics. It is a game you can jump in right away but master completely only after dozens or even hundreds of hours spent with your friends on addictive gameplay."

With most of the development having been financed by the studio itself, the Kickstarter campaign for The Red Solstice is the final stepping stone needed to finish the game. Developers are seeking for only $50,000 in funding to be able to polish the game from its alpha status up to the release version and add more content. The studio has ambitions to add an epic single player campaign, support for Mac, Linux and iOS plus more gameplay modes and huge boss monsters -- in case the campaign attracts enough backers to exceed the set amount. The game is planned to be released in August 2014.

"MyDream" achieves early Kickstarter success

MyDream achieves early Kickstarter success
Massive, Realistic 3-D Multiplayer Sandbox Game coming to Market
San Francisco, CA, 27th March, 2014 - MyDream is well on its way to market with the announcement that the game has surpassed its Kickstarter goal of $100,000 in just days. The fast funding demonstrates the excitement for the title and its potential to deliver a new kind of social sandbox game. As a result of the rapid funding, new “stretch” goals have been announced on Kickstarter including general Survival Mode, a rock creature breeding system, a tower defense system, a voxel vehicle creator and more.

MyDream allows players to experience unlimited, user-created adventures that are fun and encourage real-life skills such as creativity and collaboration. Currently in very early private beta testing and by invitation only, MyDream already features over 4.3 million user-generated 3D voxel objects. Through its system of rewards, the game promotes adventure, creation and cooperation. MyDream brings together gaming genres including sandbox, RPG and adventure, with realistic graphics to create a new type of open-world gameplay experience where MyDreamers can create and explore any adventure imaginable. The possibilities are limited only by the players' imaginations. More than just a game, MyDream is a community built on principles.

When players enter the MyDream world they become immersed in a 3-D online gameplay experience unlike anything they have encountered before,” said Allison Huynh, CEO of MyDream.  “Our Kickstarter campaign will help bring our vision of the final game to market and provide backers with special abilities including wings to fly, X-ray vision to see through walls and even a pet rock monster, all to make their experience even more amazing and fun!

MyDream features three main “reward tracks” and players can “level-up” each of these at their own pace:

ExploringMyDream has a massive number of adventures to join, with something for players of every level, from beginner to expert. The number of adventures available will grow by the hour, as every time you login, there will be new adventures to explore, created by the MyDream community.

Building: Players will earn rewards from the creation of three main items - new organic environments; the creation of buildings and other structures; and what many players will find the most fun, the creation of their own adventures to share with others

Cooperation: There will be incentives for players to work together and the MyDream world is built around positive reinforcement and teamwork.

Rift-enabled World of Diving 'Stage 0' Playable Launched

Rift-Enabled Multiplayer Online Experience World of Diving
Now Luring in Players with Stage 0 Playable

Get a sneak peek at your own personal diving base with friends

Rotterdam, The Netherlands – March 26, 2014 – Dutch independent studio Vertigo Games today launched the first playable, named “Stage 0”, of the online multiplayer VR-enabled underwater experience World of Diving on www.divegame.net.

Stage 0, which is playable with both the Oculus Rift and a traditional monitor, lets players dive in with up to 4 friends, to give their customized character a spin in their own personal diving base, and to get a first taste of what the upcoming underwater experience will entail.

“Launching an early, scalable build in this fashion allows a small studio such as ours to stagger the release in manageable chunks, while at the same time giving our ever-growing community the chance to get involved in a transparent and open development process from very early on,” says Richard Stitselaar, Creative Director at Vertigo Games.

Vertigo Games emphasizes that Stage 0 is not meant to be representative of what World of Diving will offer players in its final stages – neither in scope nor feature completeness. “Stage 0 serves to give players an impression of they can expect from World of Diving in the future – and a way for us to start an open, informed dialogue with our enthusiastic, resourceful community,” Stitselaar adds.

Stage 0 is now available for PC to anyone who has pre-purchased World of Diving via its official website: http://www.divegame.net. Mac and Linux support is expected within the next weeks.

View the latest World of Diving trailer here: http://youtu.be/kHbzexZ7z5I.
