Heh... I'd had this game on my radar to post about for a couple of days, thought "finally I'll be posting about a game that isn't procedurally generated", then came across this bit in the game's description:
After defining and customizing your species, you play in a procedurally generated universe with AI-created events and stories. Astrobase Command is about realizing your science-fiction fantasy.
Ah well. (It's not that I have anything against procedurally generated games of course, just that I seem to have posted about rather a lot of them recently - Approaching Infinity, Imagine Nations, Orbis Infinitas and Tiny Trek.)
Anyway, about Astrobase Command... it won't surprise you to know that it's a Sandbox game, but maybe you wouldn't expect it to have a low sci-fi 70s setting, or be a a character-driven survival and building simulation?
