Tower and Power

Posted by Dave Seaman on Wednesday, 16 January 2013

This is a rather interesting project - a New Yorker and a group of Italians have got together and are working on developing a 3D map of the Mediaeval town of Bologna, which is intended to be followed by a browser game based on the rivalry among Bologna noble families in the 13th century. Thanks to an innovative mode, the game will allow players, although within a strictly historical framework, to “physically” meet by means of various activities taking place within the local territory.  They're running a Kickstarter campaign to finance the first phase of the project, creating the map itself.

  • Enjoying, walking and… learning, thanks to an original 3D map, a faithful reconstruction of the Italian town of Bologna in the 13th century, which allows you to take a fantastic first person journey or fly over the town. In short, a “smart adventure”.
  • Playing a game of true historical popularization, which may preserve all the features of an adventurous and fascinating experience but is not limited to a merely military approach (bang-bang), emphasizing the most authentic events which characterized the fight for power … practically, all the elements of a modern SOCIAL GAME
