Grimind - first gameplay trailer released

Posted by Dave Seaman on Tuesday, 21 August 2012

Grimind is a 2d adventure platformer in horror/creepy theme. You play as unidentified creature which wakes up in caves. You must demonstrate big manual skills to pass obstacles and solve non trivial puzzles to get out of scary environment and additionally remind yourself or even discover, who you really are. Grimind is inspired by games like Amnesia: The Dark Descent, Super Meat Boy and also Limbo. You get dark and creepy  atmosphere like in Amnesia or Limbo but character dynamics reminds of Meat Boy. Special emphasis is placed on game physics provided by Bullet Physics. It's fun that you can grab objects like rocks or cubes and then throw it at any direction using mouse, or grab vines and swing it to get to the further part of level. Sound also deserves the attention. Hypnotic ambient sounds, knocks and sometimes clatter in critical moments sets scary atmosphere.

Sole indie developer Pawel Mogila, who hails from Jagiellonian University in Poland, has just released the first gameplay trailer - looks pretty creepy to me!

You can keep tabs on the game at it's Official Website and Dev Blog.

It's planned for release around December 2012 for PC, Mac and Linux.
