Indie Open House - Announcement

Posted by Dave Seaman on Friday, 8 July 2011

Starting this week, Indie Open House is once again opening its doors to the independent game community by offering free office space, technology, peer support and consultation to aspiring independent game development teams. Founded in January of this year by IGN and GameSpy Technology, the program has helped support the projects of five indie developer teams, giving them a space to share insights into the development process with like-minded peers, and a place for the teams to convene and further refine their projects. The deadline for applications is August 1st, 2011, with the second residency term beginning on September 12th. Any teams looking to enter the program can apply at the official website:

The six month program offers free office space in the San Francisco offices of IGN Entertainment, where they will internet connectivity and support from the GameSpy Technology staff. Indie Open House is strictly a support and residency program, meaning IGN maintains no interest in owning any content or binding participating teams to prohibitive contracts. Instead, the goal of the Indie Open House project is to lend valuable resources and support during challenging financial times and to encourage innovation within the game development community.

For more info, please check out the official website, and please spread the word of this helpful program to your indie-loving readership:
